Chocolate Chip Bourbon Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Bourbon
  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 10-12 oz dark chocolate chunks
  • 1 Tbsp flaky sea salt
  • 2 Tbsp bourbon

Directions:

Makes about 24 cookies

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Add butter to a medium-sized saucepan set over medium heat. Melt butter and wait for it to bubble slightly. When it starts to brown, add bourbon. Set aside to let cool slightly.

In a bowl, mix all the wet ingredients: bourbon butter, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, brown sugar, sugar, and chocolate chunks. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture to make the dough. Roll into golf ball-sized balls, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 8-10 minutes. Don't over-cook as you want the gooey chocolate with the bourbon kick.

As soon as they come out of the oven, sprinkle them with flaky salt. Serve warm or at room temperature.
