Tequila Cranberry Refresher
Ingredients:
- 1 oz tequila
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cranberry simple syrup
- 6 oz seltzer water
- ½ cup sugar (divided)
- ¼ cup water
- 12 fresh cranberries
Directions:
Yields: 1 cocktail, 4 cocktail garnishes
In a shaker full of ice, combine the tequila, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and 1 tsp simple syrup. Shake for 30 seconds or until chilled. Strain into a glass, top with seltzer, and garnish with sugared cranberries.
Sugared cranberry garnish
Combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water in a small pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and let cool. Add cranberries to the cooled syrup and let chill in the fridge for an hour, or overnight if you have time. Drain the cranberries, making sure to reserve the syrup for your cocktail. Place the remaining ¼ cup sugar in a small bowl and add the syrupy cranberries one at a time, rolling around until evenly coated. Thread 3 cranberries on each cocktail pick and allow the garnishes dry for 30 minutes.
