Combine the water and smoked sea salt, stir and leave for 5 minutes to dissolve.
In a highball glass, add 1 tsp of smoked sea salt solution, rum and maple syrup. Fill the glass with ice and stir for 10 seconds. Top with seltzer and serve.
Optional: Cover cocktail with a cloche and smoke with a smoking gun for extra smoky flavor.
