Candied Bourbon Pecans

Ingredients:

  • 2 TBSP Bourbon
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp chili powder or cayenne pepper for ancho chili pepper
  • 2 Tbsp bourbon
  • 1 cup pecans (preferably whole or halves)
  • 1 egg white

Directions:

Makes about 2 cups

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Preheat the oven to 280°F.

In a large bowl, combine the bourbon and the egg white. Whisk until foamy.

In a different bowl, mix together the sugar, salt, and spices.

Add the sweet spice mixture into the egg white mixture and mix well. Add in the pecans and mix until all pecan pieces are coated well with the spice mixture.

Spread on a baking sheet into a single layer and bake for about an hour, stirring pecans every 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
