Black Walnut Fig Manhattan

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Add the ingredients to a mixing glass with 1 large ice cube. Stir
thoroughly, for about 30 seconds or until the mixing glass feels
cold to the touch.
2. Strain the cocktail into a coupe or martini glass.
3. Garnish with a skewered fig.

*Caramelized Fig Syrup
Ingredients:
8 oz Dried Figs, Chopped Coarsely
1 Cup Dark Sugar (turbinado, demerara, etc.)
1 Cup Water
½ oz Lemon Juice
Directions:
1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan.
2. Bring mixture to a simmer with medium heat, and stir until
sugar is dissolved.
3. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Remove from heat, and let steep for 30 minutes.
5. Strain liquid with a fine mesh seize or cheesecloth.
6. Return liquid to the saucepan and simmer of low to medium
heat until the syrup has thickened and reduced by roughly a
third.
7. Transfer to a jar, refrigerate and store up to 15 days.
