Combine all ingredients, except bitters, in a cocktail shaker without ice and shake well. Add ice and shake again. Strain the mixture into a large port glass. Garnish with a strawberry, coconut wedge and bitters floated decoratively.
* Syrup Instructions: Warm 1 part of water until nearly boiling. Stir in half of a vanilla bean cut into fourths and press it lightly against the walls of the vessell for 1 minute. Then stir in 1/4 part green cardamom pods and steep both ingredients for 3-5 minutes. Add equal parts granulated sugar and stir until dissolved. Let the mixture cool to room temperature and stain out vanilla and cardamom. This mixture will last approx. 1 week if covered and refrigerated.
